Today I am going to talk about Section A in Unit 9 Have you ever been to a museum?, My presentation con
2、sists of eights parts: analysis of the teaching material, teaching keys and difficulties, teaching aims ,analysis of the students, teaching methods, studying ways, teaching procedures and teaching reflections.Part1. Analysis of the teaching material i)Status and function This unit is aiming at talki
3、ng about the Perfect Tense with the patterns of Have ever been to? Ive never been to. The main task for ss is to talk about past experiences to some places. Even though ss have learned the present perfect tense in last unit, they may still feel hard to talk about what fun places they have ever been
4、to and what they think of these places. Thus, enough practice will be organized to help ss learn some museums, theme parks and the present perfect tense with been, ever and never. ii) Teaching aims and demands1.Knowledge ObjectsIn this lesson, Ss should master the new words: amuseumtpark, somewhere,
5、 camera and invention. At the same time, they should know how to use this sentence “Have you ever been to ?” and know how to answer it. 2.Ability ObjectsIn this lesson, Ill mainly train the Ss listening and speaking abilities and develop the Ss abilities of communication by learning the useful struc
6、tures.3. Moral ObjectsBy talking about the places students have been to, their love to rivers and mountains of our nation will be greatly increased.Part2. Teaching keys and difficultiesAccording to the teaching aims, I think the focus of this lesson is the new expressions and help the Ss to communic
7、ate with each other. The difficulty is to help the Ss make conversations freely using the target language.Part3Teaching aidsA tape recorder and Acomputerformultimediause Part4.Analysis of the students The Ss have learned English for one and a half years, they can express their thought and communicat
8、e with each other with English well. And all the Ss will be interested in the topic about their past experience, which is related to their real life. Its helpful for our study of this lesson.Part5.Teaching methodsIn this lesson, Ill mainly use the “task-based” teaching method, and it will be used in
9、 the whole lesson. I think its helpful to develop the Ss thought. Ill also use “situation communicating” method. It can provide enough listening and speaking situations for Ss. I think good teaching methods are the keys to success.Part6 studying waysIn order to guide the Ss better, develop the Ss ab
10、ilities, in this lesson, the Ss will learn how to be a good language learner, and how to communicate with others. It will be very helpful for their learning in the future. I think good studying ways can help the Ss to be good language learners.Part7Teaching procedures Step 1 , Leading in The teacher
11、 and the students watch a period of a video and enjoy the English song. Then ask and answer some questions between the teacher and the students.T: Do you think it fun? What are they doing? Do you like traveling?Ok, today were going to talk about some interesting places we have been to or were going
12、to. Thats Unit 9 Have you ever been to a museum? (Show the students some famous museums on video)T: Look! This is an amusement park. Its so beautiful, isnt it? Purpose of my designing: I think it is important to form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss and at the same time it is necessa
13、ry to provide situations to review learned knowledge. Step 2 PresentationPresenting some pictures of amusement park, zoo, space museum, history museum art museum and water park.Then, Ill provide some background information. After that, they will rank these places in 1a from their most favorite to th
14、e least favorite.Next, Ill ask ss questions like:Have you ever been to a/an ? Yes, I have. / Me, too. / So have I.No, I havent. /Me, either. / Neither have I. Purpose of my designing: This part is very important. I think it is much easier for the Ss to learn if I present the key structures one by on
15、e and they can master the structures quickly by doing this.Step 3 Practice Students look at the pictures and make similar dialogues in pairs.A: Have you (ever) been to a/an ?B: Yes, I have. What about you?A: Me, too. / So have I. Purpose of my designing: This step is employed to make the Ss get the
16、general idea of the dialogue as a whole one. At the same time let the Ss have a chance to practice their listening and spoken ability. Step 4 Listening practiceT: Look at the picture. We can see two girls. They are Claudia and Sarah. What do you think they are talking about? Lets listen and find out
17、 where they have been. (Then check the answer together) Purpose of my designing: It gives Ss practice in understanding the target language in spoken conversations.Step5. PairworkShow some photos of the students, and ask them some questions. Then make the students work in pairs. Purpose of my designi
18、ng: Task-based teaching method is used here to develop Ss ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation will be well trained.Step6. GameDriving a Train Ask each student to say one place he/she has visited before, using the structure: “I have been to”to report it. Then next student
19、repeat what he/she has heard and report the information about himself.Eg: A:I have been to a history museum. B: A has been to a history museum. I have been to a science museum. C: A has been to a history museum. B has been to a science museum. I have been to Purpose of my designing: Playing games ca
20、n raise their interests in learning target language. Teaching reflectionThere are only two new words in this lesson: amusement and neither. During my preparation, I prepared a lot of pic
24、tures to realize the revision and teaching of the new words. I found that they were quite attractive when students saw them during the teaching. In terms of my organization of the class, there were seven steps in detail. They were leading in, presentation, practice, listening, pairwork and summary.
25、Leading in occupied about 8 minutes; presentation occupied 5 minutes; practice and pairwork accounted for half of the class; listening lasted about 7 minutes. I was quite satisfied with the part of oral practice, because every student participated in listening and talking. They could give correct an
26、swers when they stood up. The feedback information was ideal at this point. Meanwhile, I was not satisfied with the listening part. If I had five more minutes, I would play the tape recorder for another time and let them repeat what they heard. Because of the limited time, I just let them to listen and check the answers, I think its not enough if I want to develop their listening and speaking abilities.
