My presentation consists of six parts: analysis of the teaching material, analysis of

3、 the students, teaching methods, learning methods, teaching procedures and blackboard design.Part One Analysis of the teaching material 一、Status and Function This unit is mainly about telling past events using the past continuous tense. Let the students talk about what people were doing when the rel

4、evant events happened. The content of this unit is closely related to students daily life, so it s easy to encourage them to communicate with others by using what they have learned in this class. 二、Teaching aims and demands 1. Knowledge Objects Master new words, phrases and key sentences. Master the

5、 past continuous tense. 2. So in this lesson I ll mainly use “Communicative” teaching method, “

Step 2 Revision and Discussion Show some pictures and get Ss to revise the simple progressive tense by saying what he/she is doing. Lead Ss to describe the pictures using the past progressive tense bygiving the past time.

Step 3 Presentation (1a-1b) Give pictures and guide to say the new word: rainstorm Watch a video and introduce the topic: What were people doing when the rainstorm came? Look at three pictures and ask Ss to answer the quest

12、ions using past progressive tense. Make Ss do 1a and check the answers. Listen to 1b and circle the correct responses. Then, check their answers.
