11、n idea of the textThis story happens in rural Kentucky. The father and the son are planning to put up a fence to stop the cows from continuing to eat the tips of the corn or grains of corn sown in the earth and trample down the stalks of the corn. They take their dog, Bob, along with them. In their
12、corn field, they see a blacksnake. The father, who hates snakes, sets Bob on it.But the son, who finds that it is a harmless female snake, argues that they should not kill it. The father does not listen to him and goes on to encourage Bob to catch and kill this non-aggressive, non-poisonous animal.1
13、11.2 The main idea of the textThe dog kills the snake without showing any hesitation.
